Episode:Consequences of the Betrayal (Part 1)

From Symmetry of Soul

Of all the perplexing problems growing out of the Lucifer rebellion, none has occasioned more difficulty than the failure of immature evolutionary mortals to distinguish between true and false liberty. The Gods neither create evil nor permit sin and rebellion. The deliberate choice of evil constitutes sin; the willful rejection of truth is error; the persistent pursuit of sin and error is iniquity.

Summary by Kermit

EVOLUTIONARY man finds it difficult fully to comprehend the significance and to grasp the meanings of evil, error, sin, and iniquity.

Discussion: Before citing some cross references in the revelation to assist us in understanding the true nature of error, evil, sin, and iniquity we discussed the statement:

The Gods neither create evil nor permit sin and rebellion. Potential evil is time-existent in a universe embracing differential levels of perfection meanings and values.

Because evil is not an eternal fact, and The Father has delegated to his ascendant creatures of time, all universe prerogatives of which they are capable, one of which is absolute sovereignty over their personal eternal destiny, the issue of permitting sin and rebellion becomes one of God being UNABLE TO PREVENT the sovereign creature from such choices. God given free will choice, in the hands of immature evolutionary creatures makes such choices virtually inevitable.

In Paper 188:4 on p. 2016 we read that “Sin is the act of conscious and deliberate rebellion against the Father’s will and the Sons’ laws by an individual will creature.”

In Paper 89:10, p.984. we read: Sin must be redefined as deliberate disloyalty to Deity.

We were then taken through the evolution of the concept of sin, beginning with folkways, through mores and elevated into taboos through the application of the 7th adjutant mind spirit energy of zeal.

The old, and sad to say, widely held current view of sin is a transgression of taboo. We unpacked the new definition of sin starting with deliberate (carefully “weigh”). Looking at dis-loyalty from both the individuality consciousness perspective we find legal, and from the unity consciousness perspective we have unity. Thus, the new definition becomes carefully weighed disruption of unity (a fundamental quality of deity). Evil, thus becomes disloyalty to deity that is not deliberate.

With respect to engaging the SELF we see that: [118:7.7]

  • Error is self confusing.
  • Evil is self-disrupting
  • Sin is self destroying.
  • Iniquity is self destructive.

The student is encouraged to pursue the archive of this show as well as personal study of the revelation for further clarification. [Paper 148:4]-Error, evil, sin, and iniquity

1. True and False Liberty

The first six paragraphs of this section represent a masterful weaving of the facets of meaning highlighting the importance of personal responsibility and self-control as required handmaidens of true liberty.

The conceptual illusion of self-motivated liberty requires a spiritual consciousness.

A creature’s progression from error to sin requires more than the ignorant transgression of taboo. The cultivation of any ability to discriminate between right and wrong, good and bad should prevent you from unwittingly taking the first step to sin. There is a “mercy ledge” on the slippery slope to sin, below which you must choose to go, if you are to descend into sin.

True liberty is the associate of genuine self-respect, while false liberty is the consort of self-admiration. As has been mentioned, the Lucifer rebellion as it survives today has not to do with devil worship or atheism, but with the ideas of the God of liberty. The so-called common wisdom of how you must love yourself to be psychologically “healthy”, and the “self-esteem” (to the neglect of righteousness) movement in elementary education of 25 years ago, were cited as current manifestations of these “ideas of a God of liberty”.

The false liberty which leads to the exercise of power over others will stimulate the spiritual consciousness to chafe at such injustice. Care must be used to distinguish between the rightful overcontrol of a universe hierarchy, and false control by those at the same level. That which comes from above is not unjust, but for your own good. When you are not certain as to the legitimacy of authority, best choice is to submit to authority. Divine authority will prove itself.

We had an interesting discussion concerning war and the counter intuitive notion that it is indispensible to the progress of early civilization. Only when human civilization progresses from clans and tribes to the level of nations, does war become inimical to the progress of civilization. On our planet today there are many peoples and places that have failed to progress beyond the tribal stage of civilization, thus do the indispensibles of early civilization (war, slavery, social classes, and the profit motive) remain operational. Elsewhere, the indispensibles of advancing civilization (true religion, true monogamy, prayer, and God consciousness) come into play.

2. The Theft of Liberty

Lucifer’s attempt to short-circuit time in an experiential universe led to the attempted disenfranchisement of every personality in Satania, the theft of liberty. Thus, IMPATIENCE, stands as a clear warning sign of the danger lurking in the doctrines of false liberty.
