There are four phases in the evolution of religious philosophy:[1][2]
- Conformative. Resigned to submission to tradition and authority.
- Stabilize daily living. Slight attainments, just enough to stabilize the daily living, and therefore early arrested. "Just let well enough alone, would ya?" they say.
- Logical intellectuality. Giant intellects stagnate here because of cultural slavery and cultural bondage. Or the fall prey to materialism.
- Freedom. Freedom from all conventional and traditional handicaps. The religionist dares to think, act, and live honestly, loyally, fearlessly, and truthfully.
