Talk:Three cosmic intuitions
From Symmetry of Soul
An attempted practical cultivation
- We've adopted a geriatric cat from a family member who could no longer care for the cat. His health is failing and each morning we wake up and might find he died in the night. Perhaps a little gruesomely, with bodily builds expelled and all, as animals usually do.
- I have a problematic connection with cats. The specifics are not important; the key is I want to do better and overcome some childhood issues.
- this morning I woke and was arrested by the usual fear of a pet cat dying.
- But I caught it and prayed that I want to do better.
- The sense I got was to "cultivate" cosmic intuitions in this morning.
- Particularly the "reality response" shade of meaning.
- Causation: aka mathematical/scientific. I reminded myself statistically how many cat reach age 18. Less than 2 percent. How old might he be if his years were redistributed onto a typical human life? 90 years old.
- Duty: my duty to others. other PERSONALITIES. The cat is not a person.
- Animals have the potential to convey some ministry to us -- they are here for a reason. But they are a means to an end.
- My duty is to my family in this case. Ensure we do not spend inappropriately out of emotional sentiment. Ensure my sister-in-law does not become burdened with these cat problems, as she has her own family priorities.
- Worship: this is where things got fuzzy. About all I could come up with was
- Trying to remember the cosmic panoply. The scope of our life. Not get lost in the moment.
- Not get bound to material things if my heart is set on eternity.
- And to... somehow... minister to my sister in law through this, but not in a preachy way.
But I'm concerned my sense of the 3rd cosmic intuition is off. That I was just getting corollaries to causation and duty. Or just using good old fashioned human rationalization.
- Causation, duty, and worship are LEVELS. Not the intuitions themselves.
- It's a threefold insight into threefold actuality.
- Value is a very different basis to consider the significance of something. As opposed to considering in a materially pragmatic way.
- Relative to the cat, is there some way value could be injected into my life. That's what this 3rd cosmic intuition is trying to set up in your mind. A not thing basis.
- And if you bring that value in, there can be meaning.
- Superimpose your inner life over whatever outer-life thing situation
- This can bring meaning into your life.
- hold the tension between the changeless (value) and all the constantly changes (things), and you will find meaning.
- The third cosmic intuition brings this potential into play.
- Always have value present in any situation.
- What if I combine what's out there (changing) with what's inside me that's unchanging? Meaning.
- Get yourself founded correctly. You can stand unmoved when the family pet dies. A real parent can pick up the child when the family pet dies, and minister to them. You can demonstrate your loyalties to that child.
- Not cold and aloof. You're right there. Acknowledging their struggle. But they can sense there is rock within you that you stand on that makes you unmovable.
- What do you offer a child? Mostly a silent presence of a human presence that
