From Symmetry of Soul
Episodes that don't correlate to a Tuesday broadcast
Episode 6
- Transcendent pattern set on high
- Authority of leadership
- Be careful of who you subordinate to
- Men are dependent on their wives
Episode 8
- Challenge of language, per Foreword
- As ascending creatures, our word symbols are not perfectly aligned with the divine order.
- Example: I love chocolate, I love my husband.
- The word subordination
- Someone who has "control" over me? I might chafe at that!
- This is imperfect understanding of subordination. There is a higher revelation of subordination.
- Consider etymology: sub + ordination. There was ordination of the apostles.
- A "submissive" position? A la Pauline Christianty? Not likely in that sense, seeing as there's a "Proclamation of equality" on high.
- A "dependency?" Perhaps. The Son is "dependent" on the Spirit, so there is something reciprocal.
- A husband dependent on his wife?
- As a long-time bachelor, Brad was living okay... but not thriving fully as a male of the species.
- He just didn't have an instinct for what it takes to have a home.
- Sandwiches? Flowers on the table? It's deeper than that. The spark of imagination at the root of such things. Or even deeper.
- Just something mythologically correct about Genesis 2:24 (and its upholding in [167:5.7])
- The male as a leader, via Star Trek
- Picard says "This way" when he doesn't really know. Which is not the same as saying "I know it's this way."
- Ruthie likes this. Leaders sometimes have to direct without exactly knowing what's ahead.
- But not to the point of arrogantly abandoning reason and consultation.
- We are perfecting creatures. We must be forgiving and patient.
- Brad may make a directing move and it's a bad move. We have to be okay with that.
- Ruthie may fail in a realm Brad depends on her for. We have to be okay with that.
- When failures happen, don't throw the baby out with the bathwater. The system is not wrong, it participants merely are not perfect.
- It's an artful balance. Trial and error? Sure. But also wisdom to look before leaping.
- Mutual interdependence is the pattern over and over.
- Creator Son and Creative Mother Spirit? Full consultation on creative acts.
- Adam and Eve? They fail precises when they work isolated from one another on "schemes for universe saving."
- Joseph and Mary? They're a team. Even if Joseph "rules," they "reconcile" their differences.
